In 1985, the Community Resources Commission (CRC) Needs Fund was established to address a growing demand for emergency services and a decline in available human service resources.

The CRC is an active volunteer group responsible for overseeing the CRC Needs Fund. Members attend monthly meetings to help coordinate the Community Resources Program and fundraising efforts. Throughout the year, they volunteer with holiday baskets, respond to emergency needs, and participate in other philanthropic programs as needed. The CRC consists of nine members, each serving two-year terms, all with nonprofit backgrounds and experience working with disadvantaged groups.
