Join us at Davis Foster Preserve to celebrate the start of fall with cider, donuts and stewardship! Help us transplant native species grown from our very own seeds collected by MCC volunteers and staff last season. Unlike traditional gardening, native habitat restoration is a little wilder and takes place among downed logs and woody debris. Please be prepared to walk over uneven terrain and go off trail. We will provide all tools and will talk about why native plants are so important to our local natural areas. No experience is necessary; we would love to teach you about native plants and gardening! Join us in the grassland to connect, learn, and conserve.
Stewardship Saturdays occur every other Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at a different location. Help the Meridian Conservation Corps restore habitat across our parks and preserves through activities like invasive plant removal and sowing native seeds. Stewardship workdays are a great way to get outdoors and improve our community!
Participants are encouraged to pre-register but walk-ins are welcome. To register, or for more information, please contact Land Stewardship Coordinator Emma Campbell at ecampbell@meridian.mi.us or call/text at 517.897.3610. All workdays are outdoors and may be canceled due to inclement weather. If you would like to join the Meridian Conservation Corps to receive email updates on future stewardship events and get MCC swag, visit the Meridian Conservation Corps webpage to sign up.
