Join us at Tihart Preserve (intersection of Tihart Rd. and Whitetail Cir.) for our Stewardship Saturday from 9:30 am to 12 pm. We will be planting native transplants that were grown for us by local nurseries using seeds we collected from our preserves! We will learn about savannah and prairie restoration along with the history of Tihart Preserve. All tools are provided, and no experience is necessary. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear closed-toed shoes.
Stewardship Saturdays occur every other Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at a different location. Help the Meridian Conservation Corps restore habitat across our parks and preserves through activities like invasive plant removal and sowing native seeds. Stewardship workdays are a great way to get outdoors and improve our community!
Participants are encouraged to pre-register but walk-ins are welcome. To register, or for more information, please contact Land Stewardship Coordinator Emma Campbell at ecampbell@meridian.mi.us or call at 517.853.4614. All workdays are outdoors and may be canceled due to inclement weather. If you would like to join the Meridian Conservation Corps to receive email updates on future stewardship events and get MCC swag, visit the Meridian Conservation Corps webpage to sign up.
