Stewardship Saturday

Scouting and Removing Invasive Mustard Plants

Join us to scout and remove invasive garlic mustards in a lovely forested are in Hartrick Park! We will meet at the parking lot near the playground and enter the natural area of the park from there. We will work to remove invasive garlic mustard from areas with native plants, to give them more room to regenerate. Volunteers will have to walk over uneven terrain and possibly over downed logs. No experience is necessary, and all tools are provided. Join us in the forest to connect, learn, and conserve!

Stewardship Saturdays occur every other Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at a different location. Help the Meridian Conservation Corps restore habitat across our parks and preserves through activities like invasive plant removal and sowing native seeds. Stewardship workdays are a great way to get outdoors and improve our community!

Participants are encouraged to pre-register but walk-ins are welcome. To register, or for more information, please contact Land Stewardship Coordinator Emma Campbell at ecampbell@meridian.mi.us or call at 517.853.4614. All workdays are outdoors and may be canceled due to inclement weather. If you would like to join the Meridian Conservation Corps to receive email updates on future stewardship events and get MCC swag, visit the Meridian Conservation Corps webpage to sign up.
