Join us to restore native habitat in our wetland buffers adjacent to the Central Park South Pond. We have worked hard to plant two areas in this location with native wetland plants. To nurture this area even more, we will rake specific areas and sow seeds collected from remnant wetland locations in the Township. All tools are provided and no experience is necessary. Please dress for the weather and wear closed-toed shoes.
Weekday Warriors occur every other week from 1 pm to 3 pm at a different location. Help the Meridian Conservation Corps restore habitat across our parks and preserves through activities like invasive plant removal and sowing native seeds. Weekday Warriors are a small, but mighty group that attacks small, often sensitive stewardship projects in the Township.
Participants are encouraged to pre-register but walk-ins are welcome. To register, or for more information, please contact Land Stewardship Coordinator Emma Campbell at ecampbell@meridian.mi.us or call at 517.853.4614. All workdays are outdoors and may be canceled due to inclement weather. If you would like to join the Meridian Conservation Corps to receive email updates on future stewardship events and get MCC swag, visit the Meridian Conservation Corps webpage to sign up.
