EVENT LOCATION UPDATE
Due to the chilly weather and wind gusts, our rescheduled Weekday Warriors for today, December 12th at 1 pm will be moved indoors to process native seeds in preparation for our Stewardship Saturday.
Join us to remove invasive Autumn Olive shrubs from a small clearing at the border of Red Cedar Glen Preserve and Legg Park. We are currently working to restore this area that is historically diverse with native wildflowers. All tools are provided and no experience is necessary, we will teach you all you need to know. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear close-toed shoes. Come connect, learn and conserve with us!
Weekday Warriors are a weekday stewardship group that is part of the Meridian Conservation Corps. We meet every other Thursday to work on small, but important stewardship projects in the Township. We do invasive species removal, litter cleanup, native seed collection and sowing, sometimes all at once!
Participants are encouraged to pre-register but walk-ins are welcome. To register, or for more information, please contact Land Stewardship Coordinator Emma Campbell at ecampbell@meridian.mi.us or call at 517.853.4614. All workdays are outdoors and may be canceled due to inclement weather. If you would like to join the Meridian Conservation Corps to receive email updates on future stewardship events and get free MCC swag, visit the Meridian Conservation Corps webpage to sign up.
